Carrying Banners-Festoons, Processions Banned in Shaheed Minar Area

All preparations have been completed at the Central Shaheed Minar to pay tribute to language martyrs on Martyrs' Day and International Mother Language Day. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor ASM Maksud Kamal said that carrying banners-festoons and processions have been banned for the sake of security.

Meanwhile, Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Habibur Rahman said that there is no security risk on International Mother Language Day, but four-level security measures have been taken around Shaheed Minar.

The Shaheed Minar will be opened for all levels of respect after the President, Prime Minister pay their respects in the early hours of 21st February.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police is active like other law and order forces. BNCC and rover scout will be engaged in security and discipline on behalf of Dhaka University.

As Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina will lay wreath at the altar of Central Shaheed Minar 21 times including this time. Dhaka University authorities will also hold an exhibition with that rare picture in Shaheed Minar area.
